Privacy Policy

CtrlAxe is a browser extension for saving, organising, searching, and reusing text. This policy explains what information CtrlAxe handles, where it is kept, and how optional CtrlAxe Pro billing works.

1. Your CtrlAxe library stays local

CtrlAxe stores the entries, titles, folders, images, ordering, interface settings, onboarding state, and other library information that you choose to add in your browser profile using Chrome extension storage. When you choose Save selected text to CtrlAxe from a webpage context menu, CtrlAxe stores only the text you explicitly selected and chose to save.

CtrlAxe does not transmit your saved library, selected webpage text, folders, images, or clipboard contents to the CtrlAxe billing service, Stripe, Supabase, Resend, or any other CtrlAxe server.

2. Optional account and Pro billing data

You can use CtrlAxe Free without creating an account. If you choose to purchase CtrlAxe Pro or restore Pro on another browser or computer, CtrlAxe asks for your email address and sends a one-time sign-in code.

For this optional account and billing service, CtrlAxe processes:

your email address and an internal account identifier;
authentication session information needed to keep you signed in on that browser;
your Stripe customer identifier, subscription identifier, plan, billing status, and access period; and
administrative complimentary-access status where CtrlAxe grants Pro without charge.

CtrlAxe does not receive or store your full card number. Payments, billing address details you enter during payment, invoices, and payment-method changes are processed by Stripe through Stripe-hosted Checkout and the Stripe Customer Portal.

3. Service providers and disclosures

CtrlAxe uses the following providers only to operate the optional account and Pro billing features:

Supabase provides authentication and stores account-to-entitlement records.
Resend delivers one-time CtrlAxe sign-in codes to the email address you enter.
Stripe processes payments, subscriptions, invoices, and the customer billing portal.

CtrlAxe sends your email address to these providers only as needed to provide sign-in, payment, subscription, and account-restoration functions. Stripe’s handling of payment information is governed by Stripe’s own privacy notice.

4. How information is used

CtrlAxe uses local library data to provide the extension’s text-library features. It uses optional account and billing data to authenticate you, open a checkout or billing-management page you request, determine whether Pro features are available, restore access on another browser or computer, and provide support.

5. What CtrlAxe does not do

CtrlAxe does not sell or rent personal information. It does not use your saved library for advertising, behavioural profiling, creditworthiness decisions, or analytics. It does not automatically monitor webpages, collect browsing history, or upload your saved snippets to a CtrlAxe server.

6. Retention and deletion

Your local library remains in your browser profile until you delete it, clear extension/browser data, or remove the extension. Account and entitlement records are retained while needed to provide Pro access, resolve support requests, and meet applicable accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, or legal obligations.

You can cancel a paid subscription through Stripe’s Customer Portal. To request deletion of CtrlAxe account records that are not required to be retained, contact us using the support form below.

7. Security

CtrlAxe communicates with its authentication and billing services over HTTPS. Card details are entered into Stripe-hosted payment pages rather than the CtrlAxe extension.

8. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

CtrlAxe uses user data only to provide or improve the user-facing text-library, authentication, and billing features described in this policy. CtrlAxe does not use or transfer user data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or any purpose unrelated to those features. Transfers to service providers are limited to what is necessary to provide sign-in, billing, subscription, and account-restoration functions.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when CtrlAxe changes. We will update the effective date above when we do.
